CON"TEXT'
Our mission is to transform clothing into a medium for impactful communication. All of our designs aim to be a catalyst for introspection, discussion, and community.
"Sampletext" derives from the term often used as a placeholder in creative software like Photoshop or Microsoft Word. It symbolizes the starting point for new ideas and projects.
Our 2 cents is that your 2 cents shouldn't make or break your purchasing decision. We price all of our clothes one cent over the dollar amount to make you think twice about your purchase.(EXAMPLE. $39.99 -> $40.01)
Sampletext is for every group but not for everyone. It brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by shared passions, interest, or ideas. Through targeting the individual unique nature of all people opposed to the collective mind frame that groups tend to opperate in; We aim to create an inclusive atmosphere where individuals from all backgrounds can find common ground
At Sampletext, we believe that fashion is a source of personal expression, and therefore, gifting clothes can be a difficult task. A lot of gifted clothes end up being donated or taking up unnecessary space in our closet. That's why we have an anti-gifting philosophy and discourage the practice of gifting our clothing items unless specifically requested by the recipient. We believe that clothing should be chosen by the individual as a tool for their self-expression, rather than as a gift.
Fashion is the most common form of collaborative art. Collaborative art is when the consumer has a vital role in shaping the final outcome of an art piece. In fashion, consumers have the freedom to select and combine various clothing pieces, accessories, colors, and styles according to their own preferences, tastes, and self-expression. The consumer's choices and creativity are pivotal in determining how they present themselves and how the fashion pieces come together as a whole.
This philosophy is not about everyone wearing the same thing, but rather a mindset that challenges consumerism. Our “Uniform philosophy’ encourages people to invest in versatile, high-quality clothing that reflects their individuality and personal style. Embracing this philosophy promotes a sustainable and mindful approach to fashion. By doing so, chosen pieces naturally become wardrobe staples, getting frequent wear over an extended period (much like a uniform) all while authentically representing oneself through clothing.
This philosophy goes into how people don’t realize how a t-shirt can be used as a walking billboard. Many individuals wear clothing with brand logos as a way to showcase their status and wealth. While some individuals may genuinely enjoy the aesthetic of brand logos on clothing, it's important to recognize the larger societal implications of this trend. By focusing on brand logos and status symbols, individuals are contributing to a culture that values material possessions and economic status over having a more authentic representation of oneself through clothing. Our goal is to change this narrative by using clothing as a medium to promote self-expression, mindfulness, and personal style rather than impressing others or conforming to a specific image.
Sampletext is a concept and context-driven brand that uses clothing to foster community through communication. With a focus on impactful messages, our designs aim to spark internal reflection and external dialogue.
As our name suggests, Sampletext uses alot of typographic art to convey our messages and ideas. Our signature font is times new roman as it is the most common default font in creative softwares.
Lenticulars provide us a dynamic platform for conveying the message behind our products. Lenticular designs spark curiosity and intrigue, prompting discussion. Lenticular’s are lenses that produce images with an illusion of depth, or the ability to change or move as they are viewed from different angles. We aim to have a significant impact on the widespread adoption of lenticular usage within the fashion industry.
The triple quotation mark used in our quotes is a representation of the three spirals from our logo. It's a subtle but effective way of incorporating our branding into our content.
We incorporate placeholder text into our designs, mocking the way other companies often rely on the use of meaningless text to design t-shirts. We contrast this with thought-provoking messages to draw attention to the importance of meaningful content within fashion.
- This "text" is only here for the sake of appearance
- "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog"
- "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"
- "Consectetur adipiscing elit"
- "Sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua"
The homonym of "insight" and "in sight" symbolizes how wisdom is often hidden in plain sight. The shifting letters on the shirt illustrate how insight is a matter of perspective. This shirt calls for people to be curious and empathetic.

I feel like the environment has some how become far too political, when it should be simple math. There are 8 billion people on earth and it is estimated that in America an average human throws away more than 30 pounds of trash per week. I think about this every time I throw something away and it freaks me the fuck out. This shirt focuses on our society's lust for consumerism and its negative impact on the environment. The "mother earth" in the design represents the deceptive allure of surface-level appearance. In the context of the hot mom, her beauty may draw attention and admiration much like consumerism and material goods, but could also lead to the destruction of the "environment' in a family

This ones pretty straightforward. It emphasizes the importance of embracing the learning process and not being afraid to suck. Opposed to striving for perfection, this shirt encourages people to strive for growth by taking on new challenges. Everyone starts as a beginner, and it's through making mistakes and taking risks that we learn and grow.
